Uncle Tetsu Angel Cafe

A cute little cafe with mainly desserts and drinks on the lower level of Regents Place. It sort of transports you to those cute Japanese 'maid cafes' as all the waitress were dressed in maid uniforms. It also has an open kitchen where you can see them bake cakes and the tarts (the cheesecake is made upstairs, again you can see through the window.

One tart-$3.80 (from memory)

They had a promotion initially where if you dine in you get a free drink from a limited option. I just went with an iced green tea. Not too sweet but would prefer more green tea flavour since it was a tad watered down. Probably because it was free. The tart itself was very nice. Not too cheesy and pastry not too buttery. I don't think I had a cheese tart when I went to Japan around 9 years ago (wow, can't believe how fast time passes). I have yet to do a complete a proper Japan food tour so can't compare this to the ones in Jap (but you don't need to be a genius to figure out Japan obviously will taste better).

Maybe I'll come back to buy an Angel cake.

  1. A food exploration in Japan would be so nice! Like you would be less worried about weight gain because things are a bit healthier.
